Reading list

The experimental cast, with the original paper titles.

Cellular mechanisms

The normal-cell and cancer-cell comparison opens the double bill. The earlier fetal-fibroblast paper supplies the initial telomerase observation, while the rat pineal-cell experiment concerns melatonin synthesis. The later comparison deserves top billing for me because it makes cellular identity impossible to overlook.

Animals and people

The female SHR mouse paper reports maximum and mean lifespan separately. The fruit-fly paper concerns exposure during development; the colon-carcinogenesis paper concerns a specific induced model in rats. The human cohort studied Epithalamin-based preparations in elderly people and was observational.

A broader account

The Epitalon overview gathers the proposed mechanisms and notes limited physicochemical and structural investigation. I regard that acknowledged incompleteness as a useful companion to its optimistic title. The full citations follow.
